SSH keys

Your SSH key is your account. Each key you add signs in to the same account.

From a computer that already works, add the other computer’s public key:

Terminal window
cat laptop.pub | ssh turm.dev ssh-key add

The key is pending and you get a one-time code. On the computer that holds the new key, activate it:

Terminal window
ssh turm.dev ssh-key activate <code>

A pending key can’t sign in or authenticate API tokens. This stops anyone from claiming a key they don’t hold.

Terminal window
ssh turm.dev ssh-key list
ssh turm.dev ssh-key remove <fingerprint or label>

You can’t remove your last active SSH key. An account can have up to 100 keys, counting SSH keys, API keys and pending keys. whoami lists your keys, so you can spot one you didn’t add.
