Terms of Service

Effective 18 October 2026

The short version

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Turm is operated by [legal name], [registered address] ("we", "us"). Company details are in the imprint. These terms govern your use of Turm: the website, the dashboard, the SSH lobby, the HTTPS API and MCP endpoint, and the virtual machines ("VMs") you create ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you use the service for an organisation, you accept them for that organisation and confirm you may do so.

2. The service

The service gives you Linux VMs that you reach over SSH and HTTPS. Each VM has its own disk and its own kernel and runs on our servers in Falkenstein, Germany. What each plan includes (vCPUs, memory, disk, traffic, number of VMs) is listed on the pricing page and in the documentation. We develop the service continuously and may change or remove features. If a change takes away a material part of a paid plan, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

Features marked as preview or beta are offered as they are, may change without notice and are not covered by any availability commitment.

3. Your account

You sign in with an SSH key or an email link. Keep your keys and API tokens secure. Anything done with them counts as done by you. Tell us without delay at hi@turm.dev if you suspect someone else has access to your account. You must give us a working email address and keep it current, because we use it for login links, billing and notices about the service. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account.

4. Acceptable use

You are responsible for what runs on your VMs and for the traffic they send, including what AI agents you run do on your behalf. You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms.

5. Your content

"Your content" is everything you or your agents store on or send through the service: files on VM disks, programs, prompts, and websites you publish from a VM. You keep all rights to it. You give us only the permission we need to store, copy, transmit and display it in order to run the service for you, including replicas we keep for recovery. We do not access your content except where you ask us to (for example in a support request), where it is needed to keep the service secure and working, or where the law requires it. We do not use your content to train machine learning models.

Websites you publish from a VM are your responsibility. When you make a VM's address public or share it, anyone with the address or link can reach it.

Where your content contains personal data, we process it on your behalf under our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms.

6. Plans, payment and taxes

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions at the prices on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card or other payment details on Stripe's checkout page; we never see full card numbers. Fees are charged in advance at the start of each billing period. Value added tax and other taxes are added where they apply and are shown at checkout. Traffic past a plan's monthly allowance is slowed until the next month, not billed extra. Disk is capped at the plan's amount.

If a payment fails, we may suspend your VMs until it succeeds. We will not delete a suspended account's VMs for non-payment without warning you by email first.

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you at least 30 days in advance by email, and you may cancel before the new price applies.

7. Consumers in the EU: right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days without giving a reason. Email hi@turm.dev with a clear statement, or use the form below. The 14 days start once we have given you this notice and the form. If you asked us to start providing the service during that period, you pay for the part already provided and we refund the rest.

Model withdrawal form. To [legal name], [registered address], hi@turm.dev. I withdraw from my contract for Turm. Your name, your address, the date, and your signature if you send this on paper.

8. Cancellation, suspension and termination

You may cancel your plan at any time by writing to hi@turm.dev from your account's email address. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; until then your VMs keep running.

We may suspend VMs or an account immediately where that is necessary to stop a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, a security threat to the service or to others, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We will lift the suspension once the reason no longer applies.

We may end these terms for convenience with 30 days' notice by email, and for serious or repeated breach with immediate effect.

When your account ends, you can no longer reach your VMs. Copy off anything you want to keep before then. Deleting a VM deletes its disk and its replicas; we cannot restore it afterwards.

9. Availability and backups

We work to keep the service available and publish its current state on the status page. Unless we agree an availability commitment with you in writing, we do not promise uninterrupted service. We replicate VM disks to protect against hardware faults (see the trust center), but replication is not a backup service. You are responsible for keeping copies of data you cannot afford to lose.

10. Software and AI output

VMs come with open-source software and, optionally, AI coding agents and a model gateway. That software is provided under its own licences. AI models can produce output that is wrong, incomplete or unsafe. Review what agents do and what they produce before you rely on it.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under a guarantee we have given, and where mandatory product liability law applies.

For damage caused by slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an obligation whose fulfilment is essential to the proper performance of these terms and on which you may regularly rely, and then only for the damage that was typical and foreseeable when you subscribed.

If you use the service as a business, our total liability under the previous paragraph within any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months.

Apart from the cases above, we are not liable for damage caused by slight negligence. The fee cap applies only when you use the service as a business. These limits also protect our employees and agents.

12. Indemnity

If you use the service as a business, you will compensate us for claims that third parties bring against us because of your content or your breach of these terms, including reasonable legal costs, provided we tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in the defence.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. We will email you the changes at least 30 days before they take effect. If you object before then, you may cancel your plan free of charge; if you keep using the service after the date, the new terms apply. Changes that only add new features, or that the law requires, may take effect sooner.

14. Governing law and general provisions

These terms are governed by [governing law], excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live. If you are a merchant or a legal entity under public law, the courts of [place of jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction.

We do not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board and are not obliged to.

If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remain in force. These terms, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Data Processing Agreement are the whole agreement between us about the service.
